Riverside fundraisers generate plenty of dough - 2004-03-01
Having just calculated the funds late this morning, the Riverside Foundation for Health Care cleared over $20,000 at its “chair”-ity auction and casino affairs here Saturday, making it more successful than previous year’s fundraiser.

Aside from ticket sales to the casino, which lure roughly 200 people, there also were silent, closed bid, live, and penny auction funds to be counted, along with money generated through gambling with “fun” money.

Issue of gambling not leaving anytime soon - 2004-03-01
Milton McGregor, the dog track proprietor who wants to develop gambling in Alabama, hasn't been roaming the hallways at the State House in the opening weeks of this year's legislative session.

McGregor stated only that he would continue to back legislation that permits dog tracks to run the same level of gambling now accessible at Indian casinos in Alabama. Those establishments are not subject to state rule and gaming taxes.
