The Supreme Court paid off for gaming stocks today, according to Dow Jones’ Bob O’Brien and Ray Hennessey. The high court decided in favor of Indian tribes using an electronic bingo machine named Magical Irish.
According to federal Indian gaming legislation, tribes can provide casino gambling if the state they are in permits it, but regulations on bingo and lottery are less limiting, Dow Jones reported. Magical Irish uses paper pull-tabs, but many view the game as a sort of slot machine, O’Brien stated.
