Man makes innocent plea in counterfeit cash case - 2004-03-10
A man taken into custody at the Mohegan Sun casino last year with over $100,000 in counterfeit bills in his vehicle made an innocent plea Wednesday to the charge of possession of counterfeit obligations.

On Dec. 15, 2003, Luong was arrested at the casino on an unrelated outstanding warrant. When police conducted a routine search, they found a suspected counterfeit $50. A search of his vehicle unveiled 4,377 counterfeit $20s and 272 counterfeit $50s.

Pala tribe seeks to eradicate 'junkyard' - 2004-03-10
Within eyesight of the $215 million Pala casino complex, there's a heap of over 600 old cars, and the tribe wants it removed.

But Eric Thomson, who owns the cars that are sitting on a 10-acre lot about a mile southeast of the casino, is not moving. He claimed the tribe, which has been attempting to get him to leave for two years, is unwilling to bargain and that it has landlocked him.
