Indian Tribe Donates $4M to UCLA Law School - 2004-03-10
Flush with casino riches, an Indian tribe donated $4 million Wednesday to the law school at the University of California, Los Angeles, to endorse American Indian studies.
It was believed to be the biggest donation in history by a tribe to an educational institution.

The San Manuel tribe runs a casino on a reservation close to Highland, north of San Bernardino. Last year, the tribe donated $3 million to California State University, San Bernardino.

House Deliberates Countywide Vote for Casinos - 2004-03-10
Opponents of a proposed riverboat casino in the southwest Missouri town of Rockaway Beach on Tuesday asked state legislators to require a vote of locals throughout Taney County before the casino is authorized.

Even if that takes place, the casino couldn't be authorized yet. Statewide constituents could be asked in November to amend the constitution to permit the gambling boat on Lake Taneycomo, which is part of the White River.
