Clark cites horse racing trade for casino gambling plan's termination - 2004-03-10
A House leader who was trying to urge for legislation to permit casinos in Kentucky stated Wednesday the measure would not advance this year.

Clark proposed offering constituents an amendment to the Kentucky Constitution that would have permitted casino gambling. Had the constituents supported the amendment, Clark's plan called for as many as nine casinos within the state.

Horse Racing Trade Accredited For Gambling Plan's Downfall - 2004-03-10
A House leader who was urging legislation to allow casinos in Kentucky reported the bill will not succeed this year. House Speaker Pro Tem Larry Clark cited the horse racing trade, saying its internal disagreements contributed to the legislation's downfall. Clark added that legislators and trade officials had reached an impasse.

He had proposed offering constituents an amendment to the Kentucky constitution that would have allowed for casino gambling.
