Casino opponents issue another lawsuit - 2004-03-10
Foes of the Three Rivers Casino project filed their third lawsuit to stop it Tuesday - this one naming the Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians as a defendant.
The tribes' contentious casino is under construction on the North Fork of the Siuslaw River close to Florence.

In January, a Lane County judge disregarded People Against a Casino Town's request for a writ of mandamus to command Gov. Ted Kulongoski to invalidate a state-tribal gaming contract, saying it was premature, because all other legal roads had yet to be exhausted.

Craig Ghelfi Appointed Greektown Casino CEO - 2004-03-10
Craig Ghelfi, who has garnered almost four decades of gaming management skills, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Greektown Casino. He is responsible for supervising all aspects of Greektown Casino's daily operations and 2,400 staff members.

Ghelfi, 52, of Bloomfield Hills, has been a national leader in the gaming trade for many years. He was born in Las Vegas, where his father supervised a small downtown casino.
