Pala tribe starts 'junkyard' abstraction - 2004-03-11
Within eyesight of the $215 million Pala casino complex, there is a heap of over 600 old cars, and the tribe wants it removed. After an almost two-year war with the proprietor of the vehicles, the tribe started Thursday crushing and abstracting the cars.
Eric Thomson, who leases the property and owns the cars that are sitting on a 10-acre lot about a mile southeast of the casino, stated he wanted more time and permission to relocate the cars to a nearby property he declares he owns.
