Tribe's Hard Rock-Branded Casino Debuts Near Orlando - 2004-03-11
The hotel rooms and multibedroom suites can be booked for up to $1,600 a night and guests will be able to enjoy widescreen TVs or a soak in a big tub. Or, if they prefer, they can amble down to the casino for some electronic gaming or a look at rock 'n' roll memorabilia decorating walls from the hotel lobby to the casino.

Operators of the 37-acre facility anticipate the pizzazz of the Hard Rock brand and the casino-style gaming the Seminole Tribe provides will lure huge crowds -- and dollars.

Casino proprietors schedule Placer foundation - 2004-03-11
The United Auburn Indian Community, which controls the popular Thunder Valley Casino, has established a new foundation to provide $1 million annually to nonprofit groups in Placer County.

The move mirrors a comparable foundation founded four years ago in Yolo County by the proprietors of Cache Creek Resort Casino, which also gives $1 million each year. And the philanthropy underscores the rising economic leverage gained by Greater Sacramento tribes that controls casinos.
