Gaming Board examines casino proposals - 2004-03-12
The Illinois Gaming Board on Thursday commenced the complex process of examining three revised proposals for the state's 10th and unused casino license.
Harrah's Entertainment, which previously led in the bidding war with $375 million, offered $520 million for the license tied up in the Emerald Casino Inc. bankruptcy.
Potential fines would be capped at $105 million.
Springfield developer Bill Cellini, who chairs the Argosy Gaming riverboat casino firm, is associated with S-L Partners.
