Harrah's Appoints Lobbyist for R.I Anti-Casino Organization - 2004-03-16
For the past 15 years, lawyer-lobbyist Brian A. Goldman has acted as the voice of the Rhode Island Hospitality & Tourism Association at the State House.

The association is adamantly opposed to the $600-million resort casino the state's Narragansett Indians are proposing to construct, with financial backing from Harrah's Entertainment, in West Warwick.
"Well, somebody that is charging can't compete against somebody who is not charging," Crowley stated.

Possible Buyers of Las Vegas' Castaways Casino Gets Extra Time From Proprietor - 2004-03-16
The partnership of Randy Miller, Rich Gonzales and Rich Iannone, the group attempting to acquire the Castaways and reopen it as a hotel-casino, won a 20-day extension Monday from proprietor Vestin Mortgage.

The trio, owners of the Longhorn casino on Boulder Highway and the Bighorn casino in North Las Vegas, had signed an exclusive alternative Feb. 24 to acquire the 49-year-old historic property at 2800 Fremont St. close to Boulder Highway.
