Gaming Commission testing new slots with private firm for trial period - 2004-03-17
The Mississippi Gaming Commission will permit an independent lab to test some new slot technology, a step that may help the latest games and moneysaving systems to arrive in casinos more rapidly.

BMM Test Labs in Las Vegas has been approved to test ticket-in, ticket-out payment systems for slots. Larry Gregory, executive director of the Gaming Commission, stated by farming out the work, the state labs will be able to focus on authorizing new slot machines.

Gambling supporters are calmly plotting another push on Beacon Hill in a bid to introduce Las Vegas-style casino games to Massachusetts.

In spite of a disastrous State House showing last year for casino bills, a key state legislator is calmly circulating gambling legislation and weighing another effort to introduce slots and casinos to Massachusetts.
