College Board postpones ruling on USM gaming curriculum - 2004-03-17
The University of Southern Mississippi must wait at least another month to listen to whether it will be able to provide classes on managing and marketing casinos.

Under the Gaming Control Act, the Mississippi Gaming Commission regulates training programs that provide gaming classes. The law prohibits gaming schools to locate on public property and states no public school can teach or train students to be casino workers.

Isle of Capri Casinos Backs Illinois Officials' Public Statements - 2004-03-17
Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. today issued a statement backing Illinois Governor Blagojevich's call this afternoon for a complete, open and public review of the auction process that led to the pikcing of Isle of Capri as the winning bidder for that state's dormant 10th casino license.

The company collects over $1 billion in annual revenues and runs 16 international casinos, several of which have more gaming positions than the Illinois limit of 1,200 gaming positions.
