Inside tribal conflict causes postponement of casino, foes report - 2004-03-02
An Indian tribe that has been looking for East Bay casino property continued its internal war last week-end, with a vote to oust four council members whom some claim have placed investors' interests before that of the tribe's.
"These Tribal Council Members have been dishonest with the Members and with the public on the true ancestral origin of the Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians for the purpose of gaining a richer 'Casino Market Area' in the City of Richmond, in the Bay Area," the petition declared.
