Mayor postpones smoking prohibition - 2004-03-02
Students hoping for smoke-free bars in Madison might have to wait another year.
Before presiding over Tuesday's City Council assembly, Mayor Dave Cieslewicz asked Monday to postpone the proposed ban on smoking in city restaurants and bars from 2005 until 2006.

"If something like this is going to go through, it should go through like the casino referendum," Bush explained.

Maryland crab project angers CCA - 2004-03-02
The Coastal Conservation Association of Maryland is not content with the Department of Natural Resources' bid to authorize the commercial harvesting of crabs with finfish gear. Under the bid, an individual licensed to take both crabs and finfish for commercial purposes may take hard crabs from pound nets, fyke nets and hoop nets.
