Archives could let loose military, tribal casino, future - 2004-03-02
A little-used state archive facility here could be transformed -- Cinderella-like -- into a national warehouse for tribal casino information, federal military records and more.

The unassuming building doesn't appear like much, just several low-slung rooms flanked by sagebrush and the rare coyote. But inside is the sophisticated equipment that supplies backup data for the Oregon State Lottery and a few other state agencies, all connected to the Willamette Valley by a valuable high-speed fiber-optic line buried underneath.

Neumanali, a fresh upscale restaurant and wine shop located in a transplanted Victorian home across from Hayward City Hall, is aiming towards the bigwigs of the Hayward business community to become frequent lunch crowds.
The menu includes an extensive multitude of choices presented by Chef Cara, who formerly worked at Wente Vineyards Restaurant in Livermore, Pearl's Cafe in Fremont and even the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
