Players in casino agreement testify - 2004-03-02
Players on both sides of a controversial Jumer’s Casino Rock Island motion put their cards on the table Monday in a packed hearing at Rock Island City Hall.

The casino is looking to establish a new gaming center on a 118-acre site at Interstate 280 and Illinois 92. The owner of the property — mining company RiverStone Group Inc. — won’t sell unless it receives authorization from the city to mine sand and gravel from inside the levee system at Big Island. The city also would have to annex the property.
