Casino slot parlor in Vegas now defunct - 2004-03-02
The Town Hall slot parlor on Koval Lane south of Flamingo Road shut down Monday due to financial complications.
The 100-slot Town Hall suffered from an altering market, property owner Hal Danzig claimed of the business, which, along with the adjacent Days Inn motel, he's owned and run since 1988.

Property workers claimed the laid off workers include slot attendants, cage workers and bartenders. The casino's bar was shut down, but the property's coffee shop continues to be open and will stay open.

U.S. casino giants have no problem with British regulations - 2004-03-02
British legislators are in the midst of deliberating a possible tax rate of 15 to 20 percent on new casinos permitted under anticipated deregulated gambling legislation.

Two companies that intend to do business in Britain -- Harrah's Entertainment Inc. and Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. -- currently do business in states with similar tax rates. Harrah's is based in Las Vegas and Isle of Capri is based in Biloxi, Miss.
