Blagojevich asks for analysis of new casino license - 2004-03-22
Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich stated Monday that the public does not trust Illinois gaming regulators with regards to a casino license in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont and that he wants an independent examination of the process.
Isle of Capri Casinos Inc., the proprietor of the Isle of Capri in Bettendorf and the Rhythm City Casino in Davenport, won an auction last week for an inactive Illinois gaming license in bankruptcy court. Isle of Capri, which paid $518 million for the license, plans to establish a $150 million floating casino property in Rosemont.
