Ex-prosecutor will supervise license investigation - 2004-03-24
The chairman of the Illinois Gaming Board stated Wednesday he had asked federal prosecutors to review the board’s ruling to grant the state’s 10th casino license to Isle of Capri Casinos, the Mississippi-based gaming company with roots in the Quad-Cities.
Gaming Board officials stated Rosemont was selected for its proximity to O’Hare International Airport, the region's abundance of hotels and restaurants, and, in part, to evade a $45 million lawsuit filed by the city over its losses related to the Emerald casino.
