The Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce will host its 4th annual Strawberry Stakes Casino Night at 6 p.m. on April 9 at the Lebanon Elks Lodge.

A prime rib meal in the Elks dining room will commence the evening.
The dinner rate of $10.25 is not featured in any gaming package or casino tickets.

Pitch for $211 million tax bill gets cool reception - 2004-03-24
A Delta lawmaker's pitch today for his $211 million tax bill didn't fall on deaf ears at the Capitol.

"Our industry objects to tax increases to fix budget problems," Richard stated after the meeting. Mississippi's 29 casinos that hire 33,000 people paid $327 million in direct taxes last year, and the number rises to $500 million annually when counting all the funds going into the revenue stream, he explained.
