Armed robber caught by Vegas police - 2004-03-03
The suspect in a series armed robberies and burglaries in Pahrump and Las Vegas that took place between April and January is detained at the Clark County Detention Center - and his name is a well-known one to local law enforcement authorities.

According to Nye County sheriff's office detectives Ed Howard and Joe Close, Pahrump resident Jody Thompson allegedly confessed to robbing Terrible's Lakeside casino and Sullivan's Pub, and burglarizing Tumbleweed Tavern on three separate periods last year.

Golf, casino, theme parks, omitted from project - 2004-03-03
The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians is eliminating almost all the contentious aspects from its downtown master plan - including theme parks and a second casino - in an attempt to ease community worries.

The tribal council voted Tuesday to alter the Section 14 master plan. Removed are references to theme parks, golf practice ranges, golf facilities, 75-foot observation towers and another casino.
