Landmark casino to relaunch next month in Sin City - 2004-03-03
The landmark Binion's Horseshoe hotel-casino will make another debut April 1 after gambling policymakers rapidly licensed the property's new owner Wednesday.
MTR controls Mountaineer Race Track & Gaming Resort in Chester, W.Va., and the Speedway Casino at the Ramada Inn in North Las Vegas.

The fading gambling market was struck when Binion's Horseshoe shut down Jan. 9 after U.S. marshals confiscated cash from the casino to pay outstanding staff member benefits.

All casino bets are delayed - 2004-03-03
The hotly debated proposal to construct an Indian casino at Main Street and Interstate 15 took a solid lead in early election results Tuesday night.
With only absentee ballots reporting, 66 percent were in favor of Measure X, which ratifies the municipal services deal the city made with the Timbisha Shoshone tribe. The MSA would give the city almost $7 million annually more than 20 years, while the city provides services, like police and fire protection, to the casino.
