Dodge City is in the running for a new casino - 2004-03-03
When the frontier was still open, gambling assisted in luring cowboys and other visitors here.
These days, Dodge City relies greatly on nostalgia, luring tens of thousands of tourists who want to relive a little of the Old West. But local authorities anticipate gambling will be part of their community's entertainment again soon.

Gov. Kathleen Sebelius has suggested a development of gambling to permit the state to control up to five huge casinos. Her plan considers contracts with private developers to construct and operate the casinos.

House panels commence hearing on expanded casino gambling bid - 2004-03-03
House legislators commenced examining a legislative leader's measure Wednesday that would expand gambling in Kentucky, allowing for nine casinos within the state.

Clark's project would request Kentucky constituents whether they want a constitutional amendment that would allow for casino gambling. Clark brought in the plan in the House last week.
