Subway originator banking on tribe, casino to overturn Bridgeport’s fate - 2004-03-04
The originator of the Subway sandwich chain — with millions already invested in the Schaghticoke Tribal Nation — said Wednesday he would continue to back the tribe as it acquires new land and plans for construction of a casino.

DeLuca, who grew up in Bridgeport, launching his first Subway shop there in 1965, said the Park City has a suitable infrastructure and large base of unemployed residents, making it ideal for a casino.

Panel to vote on casinos next week - 2004-03-04
Legislation to make casino gambling legal in Kentucky is probably on its way to the House next week.
Clark has proposed a constitutional amendment to permit casino gambling at nine sites around the state -- five at racetracks and four elsewhere. The state calculates the casinos could accumulate $1.25 billion a year in revenue when mature, with the state receiving 35 percent of that.
