Kentucky House commission could soon vote on casino measure, Clark claims - 2004-03-04
The Kentucky House Licensing and Occupations Committee will most likely vote on a measure on March 10 that, if passed, would clear the path for a constitutional amendment to permit casino gambling in Kentucky, including at Churchill Downs, Keeneland (in conjunction with The Red Mile in Lexington), Kentucky Downs, and Turfway Park.
Turfway President Bob Elliston stated the differences are minor, but Churchill Downs Vice President Alex Waldrop informed the Herald-Leader that the agreement was still is in danger because of conflicts involving casino sites.
