Casino proposal shocks Tribble - 2004-03-04
Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble stated today he was shocked by the introduction of a bill in the state legislature proposing the creation of nine casinos in Kentucky and is cautious of commenting on the effect such an operation may have if one of the nine was to be situated in Christian County.

Casino funding would also go to city and county governments, veterans and road funds.

Kentucky House commission could soon vote on casino measure, Clark claims - 2004-03-04
The Kentucky House Licensing and Occupations Committee will most likely vote on a measure on March 10 that, if passed, would clear the path for a constitutional amendment to permit casino gambling in Kentucky, including at Churchill Downs, Keeneland (in conjunction with The Red Mile in Lexington), Kentucky Downs, and Turfway Park.

Turfway President Bob Elliston stated the differences are minor, but Churchill Downs Vice President Alex Waldrop informed the Herald-Leader that the agreement was still is in danger because of conflicts involving casino sites.
