Apple Valley and Hesperia green light measures - 2004-03-04
The Apple Valley region will have its new schools, and Hesperia has passed the first obstacle to get an Indian casino.

In Hesperia, constituents backed Measure X by a margin of 58.7 percent to 41.2 percent, giving their authorization to a city-sponsored municipal services deal for a tribal casino resort off Interstate 15 at Main Street.

MTR Gaming green lighted for Binion's acquisition - 2004-03-04
Downtown landmark Binion's Horseshoe is ready to reopen on April 1 following approval from state gaming regulators of the $50 million sale of Binion's Horseshoe to West Virginia-based MTR Gaming Group in Wednesday hearings.

Las Vegas-based Harrah's will supervise the casino for at least one year, with options to expand the arrangement for an additional two years.
