Pawlenty requests cuts - 2004-03-05
Gov. Tim Pawlenty suggested a$222 million supplemental budget on Thursday aimed at curing a possible $160 million deficit and permitting modest new spending without increasing taxes.

House Speaker Steve Sviggum, R-Kenyon, stated House Republicans will go after gambling revenue from a proposed new casino to cushion some of the $96 million in spending cuts that Pawlenty recommended.

Virgin Group to Introduce Internet Gaming Portal - 2004-03-05
Richard Branson’s Virgin Group has revealed its intention to make its mark on the Internet gaming world with the upcoming debut of virgingames.com, planned for this June. The site, which will provide games for free as well as the opportunity to gamble for cash prizes, represents Branson’s first flirtation with the gambling sector since he failed to secure the UK lottery in 2000.
