Thriving tourism market raises casino stocks - 2004-03-05
Solid year-end financial results from gaming operators as well as a marked enhancement in the entire tourism market in February, continued to boost values of trade stocks, according to Applied Analysis Gaming Index (AAGI) for February.

After the release of solid financial reports, operators MGM Mirage and Station Casinos became the main engines for the AAGI's progress, accounting for 5.32 and 2.11 points respectively.

Tribe prepares Madera casino venture - 2004-03-05
The North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians is joining forces with a Las Vegas gaming company to introduce an additional casino-resort to Madera County within the next three years.

Casino revenue would not only provide much-needed housing, health care and educational prospects for the tribe's 1,300 associates, but would also boost the county's "struggling economy" by generating employment and stimulating local spending, reported tribal Chairwoman Elaine Bethel Fink.
