Small firms expected to fold under new gambling legislation - 2004-03-05
Small pubs, amusement arcades and bingo halls will be severely hit by the government’s proposed gambling Bill, with many forced to close over the next few years, a new report has cautioned.
The Henley Centre, a marketing consultancy, stated that government intends to permit Las Vegas-style casinos across the UK will harm small pubs and clubs, particularly in struggling seaside or rural resorts.

The report stated that the advancement in casino and Internet gambling provoked by the Bill will see an additional £1 billion spent by punters by 2010.

Casino company takes a gamble on UK development - 2004-03-05
London Clubs International is looking for a cash injection as it moves to develop ahead of government plans to deregulate Britain's gambling trade.
UK-based London Clubs, which controls 11 casinos, plans to increase £49m ($89m) through a rights issue.

Roughly half of the investment will be generated at the company's Golden Nugget, Rendezvous and Sportsman casinos.
