State preparing to be struck if Md. gets slots - 2004-03-06
In what could be one of the closest gaming facilities to the Delaware state line, developers have suggested a slots complex for Perryville, Md., just off of the I-95 toll booth and 30 miles from Delaware Park.
Roughly 45 percent of the people who play slots at Delaware's three casinos hail from Maryland, the District of Columbia or Virginia. Delaware may lose roughly $85 million annually if Maryland sanctions slots, according to calculations from the Delaware Department of Revenue.
