State unemployment rate dips in January - 2004-03-06
Nevada's seasonally adjusted jobless rate dipped to 4.5 percent in January, down from 4.7 percent in December and 5.2 percent one year ago.
Full employment was slightly over 1.1 million, a 4.3 percent increase over the past 12 months, the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reports.
The casino-related leisure and hospitality trade had a monthly drop of roughly 2,200 workers; construction fell 2,100; financial activities hiring fell 600; and education-health services fell 100.
