Kaukauna man hits $1.6 million jackpot at Oneida casino - 2004-03-08
A Kaukauna man heading on his way home from work won a $1.6 million jackpot Thursday at the Oneida Mason Street Casino in Green Bay, according to IGT, the producer of the nickel machine that hit the jackpot.

Thomas Wasurick Jr., a warehouse delivery man, went to the casino on his way home and invested $20 in the James Dean nickel machine, IGT stated. Wasurick claimed he plans to purchase a new vehicle with his winnings.

Vegas Makes Attempt To Delay Departure of World Series of Poker - 2004-03-08
The World Series of Poker won't cash in its chips and leave downtown Las Vegas until after its host city commemorates its 2005 centennial.

The 5-0 vote finalized two days of convening and posturing by Mayor Oscar Goodman and Harrah's authorities over the fate of the world's top poker tournament. Councilman Michael Mack and Councilwoman Lynette Boggs McDonald, an associate of the Station Casinos board, did not attend the brief session.
