Abducted man claims kidnapper callous - 2004-03-08
The French national who was liberated by the police from a kidnap plot in Arusha last week, Julian Barges (28), stated the abductor was callous who would have murdered him if the police did not thwart the plot.

Barges, the son of Las Vegas Casino proprietor, Barges Henry, was kidnapped last Wednesday by an obsessive gambler, Hassan Kivuyo alias Lembris Kivuyo who commanded a ransom of 320,000 US dollars from his father.

Riviera casino, hotel plan stays on track close to Barnhart - 2004-03-08
The plan for a casino in Jefferson County hasn't been highlighted recently, but the Las Vegas company fueling the proposal and a local group backing it claim plans for a $170 million gambling, hotel and entertainment facility are still very much in play.

Recently, most of the focus has been on efforts to establish new casinos in downtown St. Louis and south St. Louis County, but Ed Hittler, president of Voices for Progress, a grass-roots group publicizing economic development in Jefferson County, argues the Riviera proposal is the best one on the table.
