Odds Not Good For West Virginia Gambling Measure - 2004-03-09
Those who would like the chance to play legal blackjack, poker, craps roulette or other types of table gambling at West Virginia race tracks will most likely have to wait at least until next year.

Tamara Pettit, director of public relations for Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort, agreed that passing table gambling laws is not likely this year, but she added it is not impossible.

Gaming Today Creator Di Rocco Passes On - 2004-03-09
Chuck Di Rocco, the colorful publisher and founder of Gaming Today and a legend in introducing racing simulcasts to Las Vegas casinos, died Saturday morning after a long illness. He was 69.

"He backed up his own advice with his own money," shared Dave Tuley, Las Vegas correspondent for the Daily Racing Form, who was managing editor of Gaming Today from 1998 to 2000. "He was a high-roller at the blackjack tables, and he was not afraid to step up to the big (betting) window if he like a horse."
