Local Casino Property Has Toxic Waste? - 2004-03-09
A Rohnert Park coalition opposed to a proposed Indian casino is claiming that land on or close to the casino site west of Rohnert Park may be contaminated with lead and unexploded ordnance from a neighboring World War II U.S. Navy airfield.
Board Chairman Mike Reilly claimed the board regards the 320-acre site as unsuitable for the hotel and casino and he asked the county administrator's office to confer with county public health officials to decide if a public notification is required.
