Gold Reef Casino Resorts shows financial growth - 2004-03-09
Listed gaming and resorts group Gold Reef Casino Resorts (GDF) has shown a 29.4% rise in headline earnings per share (HEPS) for the year to end-December 2003, to 65.1 cents from 50.3 cents a year before.

Gold Reef has interests such companies as Gold Reef City in Johannesburg, the Apartheid Museum, Golden Horse Casino, Casino Mykonos and the Garden Route Casino (42.5%). It also possesses a 10% interest in Goldfields Casino, a new resort debuted in Welkom in December.

Casino Opponents Claim Land Has Toxic Waste - 2004-03-09
A Rohnert Park coalition against a proposed Indian casino is claiming that property on or close to the casino site west of Rohnert Park may be contaminated with lead and unexploded ordnance from a neighboring World War II U.S. Navy airfield.

The Stop the Casino 101 Coalition made its claims in front of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors this afternoon and will relay them to the Rohnert Park City Council this evening.
